We are thrilled with our master bathroom remodel! The new shower is absolutely gorgeous, and the floors turned out beautifully. Caleb and Mike were wonderful to work with—kind, respectful of our home, efficient, and very neat throughout the entire project. We truly appreciated their attention to detail and how clean they kept everything. Val is a terrific asset to the company. Very friendly, organized and kept us updated on the project plans. Calco helped to make our project so easy, from initial evaluation/quote to the gorgeous end result. Thanks so much!

This was a challenging job (replacing tub and surround in my rental unit) for Dakota and Mike as my two unit in the city is 140 years old. Behind the walls of the tub was not pretty although they handled it as though it was not a problem at all. My carpentar was thoroughly impressed with the job they did which took two full days. We both agreed Dakota and Mike were highly professional, hard working and a pleasure to work with. I will be renovating my own bathroom next year and will be calling Calco again to do the job. Everyone I spoke with from the start to the end was great to work with. It looks beautiful! Thank you all.

If you are considering renovations and looking to identify a contractor, CalCo needs to be your choice! From the sales process through implementation, the process was smooth and the results superior. We engaged CalCo for a full bathroom remodel and window replacement. The sales person, Neill, visited our home and patiently and thoroughly answered our questions while also providing material samples to aid in understanding. He was very personable and shared suggestions to aid in what we were trying to achieve. Upon signing the agreement, CalCo engaged a team to initiate the process. Caleb and Jared visited our home to validate the intended design and measurements. Val was assigned as our point of contact. She did a stellar job in keeping us updated regarding the status of the project and acted as the conduit for any questions/issues. Upon receipt of the materials, the installation team was immediately assigned. A better team could not be desired! Drew, Wendell and Jared were amazing! They were very respectful of our home and sought our input on design/placement throughout the process. They worked tirelessly to provide us with the results that we were hoping to achieve! The clear and structured process, quality of workmanship, frequent communication and professional behaviors of the team cannot be surpassed. We are so very pleased with the results and would strongly recommend CalCo to anyone seeking a contractor.

Our experience with having CALCO replace our old, fiberglass tub with a new shower was nothing but positive. From Sales to Site Inspector to Installation Coordinator, everyone we interacted with was professional and helpful. We were especially impressed with the quality of the CALCO product when compared to others we looked into and we thought the overall price was reasonable. Communications prior to the installation kept us apprised of when we could expect the project to be completed. Our installers, Dakota and Mike, were professional and very competent, courteous and friendly, respectful of us and our property, and solicited our opinions for placement of accessories. We are very pleased with our new shower and highly recommend CALCO.

We talked to a few outfits before the Calco guy came around. We could see the quality and feel materials. Calco has a game plan from the call, knock on door, measuring and then presentation, schedule and installation. They had creative ideas for us to save money and lower the estimate. None of those were skipping steps or cheaper materials by the way. The installation looked like a camera on triple speed. They walked up 2 sets of stairs with everything and down to leave. They went from 65 yr old homemade tub installation to a walk in entrance into another world. When we cross the threshold we leave your world behind. The amazing shower head and wand are perfect for us. At 78 we got handrails and a teak fold down bench. I quickly realized I hadn’t been able to wash between my toes because of balance issues. A foot on the bench and a hand on the rail? Hello Mister Foot hadn’t seen you in a while, and your welcome toes. We’re putting in a washer dryer tower. Just think, a hot plate and a dorm refrigerator, 2 bags of sand and a sun lamp AND WE WILL VACATION FOR FREE. No canceled planes, no delayed trains or automobiles and Door Dash on speed dial. Thank you Calco. We’ll invite you to the BBQ opening but only room for one of you. BYORHaS Bring Your Own Rain Hat and Soap.

We had a tricky project (turning a large walk-in shower into a wet-room style bath and shower combo) and the process was still very easy! Our craftsmen Ed and Josh were both phenomenal, not just doing great work but also being kind and personable (my toddlers were both huge fans!). Val is a dream as well, communicating in a timely and direct manner. Even as far back in our project as our initial appointment was memorable, Neill was pleasant and informative!

Sales consultation was handled very well and Daniel was very responsive and helpful. Sample contract was shared ahead of time and the guarantee they offered was excellent. Once contracted, staff was consistently in touch. A couple small glitches around scheduling but we didn't have to wait long. Installation of walk-in shower went well with team of Tim and Dakota. Took a second day and required them to come back a week later to patch up some damaged walls and flooring. But their follow-up work was also very professional.

The other project invoked repealing a tub with a shower and it also turned out wonderful. I would definitely recommend Calco and our team of Matt Pierce and Anthony !!!

I honestly don’t have the words to describe not only how thrilled I am with our new bathroom….but how amazed I still am at the Professionalism, Work ethic, Proficiency, And kindness of the whole crew from top to bottom. These guys were in and out in 4 1/2 days- and we had a WHOLE bathroom remodel. I kept thinking during the process, Man, these guys are like machines (They rarely ever take a break) …. Or maybe they are robots. Hahahaha! I know that this sounds extreme, But I’m not exaggerating- At every step of the way, they were wonderful. I am so glad that we chose Calco, And we will be using them again. If you are on the fence- do it!! I can promise you will not be disappointed!!!!

My name’s Zac Jack. I’m a doughy, 37 year old stand-up comedian, and I’ve been a stay-at-home dad since emo was a thing, so when my bathroom finally started to literally melt under the strain of my utter incompetence when it comes to general maintenance, I threw up my hands and started looking for a grown-up to help me un-melt it. I went through a few companies gathering quotes for an entire bathroom remodel and rebuild; I even got messages from the company that had previously done “work” on the bathroom (that’s a hard pass from me, Bath Fitter), and it was looking grim. Have you priced things lately? Especially quality things... I mean, yikes. Enter CalCo. So first thing they did was send someone to do an initial assessment and give us a quote. The quote they gave me was, by orders of magnitude lower than the next lowest. That’s check one. Then they gave us our options. Quality, construction grade materials (not just the lick-and-stick plastic and rubber that SOME companies use, cough cough... Bath Fitter), and in a variety of styles that had options to appeal to both me (I’m tasteless white trash), and my wife (she has extraordinary taste... in decor, not men). There’s check two. Then the work started. Now, I’m an advocate for taking one’s time and doing it right, whatever the schedule. But the choice between expedience and precision craftsmanship was not an issue at all: not only was the crew they sent lickity-split on the job (Shout out my dudes Noah, Mike, Matt, and Jared), but they did incredible, professional work that I am honestly very, very impressed by. (SHOUT OUT MY DUDES NOAH, MIKE, MATT, AND JARED). And there’s the hat trick, because that’s a big ol’ Texas sized CHECK. They took care of everything, and as one room affected the next, they just kept going, kept fixing, kept it moving. And that’s to say nothing about the bathroom itself: it looks BALLER, y’all. It’s now my favorite room in the house, and that’s not just because I have the diet of a possum with access to a credit card. They did amazing work. So, in the interest of brevity, here’s my short review of CalCo: They crushed it. Then they rebuilt it better than ever. 10/10. Hire them when you need your house un-melted. I’m gonna hire them again for the next project, which I’m already planning.

My old bathroom needed to be updated. Calco proposed a very reasonable and attractive plan that I accepted. I am so happy with the finished result. My construction crew were Mickey and Josh. I can’t praise them enough. They are so skilled, so nice, so professional. They addressed every unexpected issue that came up. They did everything - demolition, installment, plumbing, electrical work, painting. They came up with novel solutions to make sure every detail was addressed to our satisfaction. Calco is a company that shows up on time, stays on the job until it’s finished, has top-notch contractors. They made sure to protect the surrounding floors and rooms from any dust and dirt. At the end of the day they cleaned up spotlessly. There are many horror stories out there of remodeling gone wrong. With this company, and especially with Mickey and Josh, you can have complete confidence and guarantee that you will be 100% satisfied. A shoutout to Kristy who is the best contact person. TY!!!!!

We would recommend CALCO for your bathroom renovations. Our craftsmen, Mello and Mike, did a great job converting our tub into a walk-in shower, as well as updating our vanity, flooring, and lighting. Their attention to detail and quality workmanship really showed throughout the project. They provided excellent communication regularly letting us know what was going on and what to expect. Whenever any issues arose, they were quick to find effective solutions with minimal disruption to the work. They also kept our home clean during every phase of the renovation, which helped ensure there was very little impact on our day-to-day routine. Kristi was also wonderful to work with—she checked in regularly from the time we signed the contract, throughout the project, and even after completion to make sure all our questions were answered and everything was running smoothly. The pricing was comparable to the other estimates we received, but CALCO’s service was significantly better. Overall, a very positive experience from start to finish.

We can highly recommend Calco Design LLC. We had a complete master bathroom renovation from the subfloor to some ceiling work. Brand new subfloor, floor boards, toilet, vanity, electrical - top to bottom. The project included the removal of a storage closet that expanded our standup shower into a beautiful masterpiece. Mickey and Josh were both professional and timely, and they included us throughout the process. We will be using Calco for future projects based on this experience, and we will ask for Mickey and Josh where possible.

My parents had a project planned to replace the vanity tops and fixtures in 4 bathrooms, and renovate the shower in the master. My father passed away unexpectedly 2 weeks before the project start date. The team at Calco could not have been more understanding and kind about the situation. My mom keeps a spotless house and we were both impressed at the measures taken to limit the dust and protect the floors and furniture. The bathrooms look beautiful, the craftsmanship is impeccable. There were some miscommunications around scheduling, but the team at Calco made it right as soon as they were alerted. There will be hiccups with any renovation project, how the contractors handle it is the most important. The Calco team made a difficult situation as easy as it could be, and now my mom has beautiful updated bathrooms to bring her some joy.

We had our Master bath completely renovated. We were able to pick out everything we wanted in one meeting. The team began the project at the estimated timeframe and completed only one day past the estimate. This was expected since we did make a couple of changes along the way. The team was very careful with our home, draping every and cleaning and vacuuming up before they left each night. The quality of the material was superior and we are thrilled with our finished bathroom. The project was not cheap, but the quality of the materials and the team that did the work reflected the value of the project

Why Hershey Homeowners Are Putting the Tub Back

Getting a tub back means getting a piece of your day back. Bedtime gets easier, sore muscles get somewhere to go, and buyers stop walking away. Homeowners across Derry Township are reversing the walk-in shower trend, and most tell us the same thing: they miss what a tub does.

A Real Place to Unwind

A long day earns more than a quick rinse. Hot water and twenty quiet minutes do something a shower can’t touch. Many homeowners who once chose a tub-to-shower conversion now want that soak back, and we hear it constantly once Hershey’s long winters set in.

Bathing a toddler stops being a wrestling match once you have a tub again. No kneeling on wet tile with a handheld sprayer. Families moving into the Derry Township School District notice the gap fast, and shower-to-tub conversions in Hershey climb their list before the boxes are unpacked.

A house with a tub keeps buyers in the room. Hershey draws families chasing the school district, and a listing with zero bathtubs loses the showing before anyone reaches the kitchen. Putting one back protects your position against the ranchers and split-levels competing with you.

What Will Actually Fit in Your Bathroom

You’ll know what fits before anyone touches a wall. Hershey bathrooms vary wildly by era, and the tub that works in a 1970s bi-level won’t work in a Cambridge Commons townhome. We measure your alcove, framing, and drain line first, then show you real options.

Bi-Levels and Split-Levels

Your floor either handles a soaking tub or it doesn't, and you'll know which before you sign. Second-floor baths in Briardale and Carol Acres sit on framing sized for a 1960s alcove tub. Reinforcing is straightforward when we catch it early, and it rarely changes your timeline.

Townhomes and Attached Homes

Shared walls don't rule out a tub. Cambridge Commons and similar attached homes off Route 743 run stacked plumbing, which limits where a drain can move. We work within that stack and still get you a full-size tub in the existing footprint, no layout overhaul required.

Original Hershey Builds

The small baths in Hershey's oldest homes still take a tub. Trinidad and Areba builds were laid out around five-foot alcoves, which is still the standard size sold today. A tub conversion in Hershey often drops straight into the space that's already framed for it.

Primary Baths in Larger Homes

Bigger rooms open up freestanding tubs, tile surrounds, and separate showers. Homes along Hillside Road and Woodland Avenue often have the square footage for both, and we handle the layout as part of a full bathroom remodel in Hershey when you want the whole room rethought.

Picking a Tub You'll Actually Use

The right tub gets used every week. The wrong one becomes an expensive shelf. Depth, length, and how fast it fills matter more than the showroom photo, so we walk you through what each style actually feels like once it’s installed and full.

Deep Soaking Tubs

You sink in past your shoulders instead of half-submerged. The tradeoff is hot water: a standard 40-gallon tank won’t fill a deep tub at temperature. We flag that upfront and size a solution, so your first soak isn’t a lukewarm disappointment.

Three walls, one clean install, and a fit that’s already framed in most Hershey homes. Alcove tubs give you full function without touching your layout, and they leave room in the budget for better tile, fixtures, and glass. Most shower-to-tub remodel in Hershey projects land here.

These become the thing people notice first. Freestanding tubs need floor space and clearance on all sides, plus supply lines routed differently than an alcove. When the room supports it, the look is worth it, and financing keeps the upgrade within reach.

Why Hershey Homeowners Choose CalCo

You get a finished bathroom on the date we promised, not a project that drags. Homeowners hire us because we handle the parts that usually go sideways: the paperwork, the scheduling, and the surprises behind the wall. That’s what separates the best shower-to-tub conversion companies in Hershey from the rest.

Permits Pulled and Scheduled

You don’t chase the township. We file with Derry Township Community Development and build inspection windows into your calendar upfront. Pennsylvania moved to the 2021 residential code in January, and knowing when a permit is required keeps your project from stalling mid-job.

The same people who tear out your shower install your tub. No handoffs between subcontractors, no gaps where nobody shows up, no finger-pointing when something’s off. You have one number to call and one team accountable for how the finished room looks.

You get your bathroom back, not a construction zone. We protect floors, contain dust, and haul the old shower out the same day it comes down. Most conversions wrap fast enough that you’re never living around the mess for long.

Hershey Shower-to-Tub Conversion FAQs

Most homeowners come to us with the same handful of questions before they commit. Here’s what we tell them about cost, timing, permits, and what’s actually possible in a Hershey bathroom, so you can decide whether this project makes sense for your home.

How Much Does a Shower-to-Tub Conversion Cost in Hershey?

Most projects run between $13,000 and $18,000, depending on tub style, surround material, and whether your plumbing needs to move. Deep soaking tubs and freestanding models sit at the higher end. Financing is available if you’d rather spread the cost out.

Simple conversions in the right home finish in as little as one day. Projects that involve moving a drain, reinforcing framing, or upgrading a water heater run longer, and township inspection windows can add calendar days. We give you a firm schedule during the estimate.

Yes, in most cases. A shower-to-bathtub conversion in Hershey PA typically alters plumbing, which triggers a permit through Derry Township Community Development. We file the paperwork and coordinate inspections for you, so nothing stalls partway through the job.

Usually, though it depends on your framing. A filled soaking tub weighs considerably more than the alcove tubs many Hershey homes were built around. We check your floor structure during the estimate and reinforce it when needed, which rarely adds meaningful time or cost.

Almost always. Hershey’s older homes were laid out around five-foot alcoves, which is still the standard tub size sold today. In most cases we drop a full-size tub into the space that’s already framed for it, with no layout changes required.

CalCo Design & Renovation is the best shower-to-tub conversion company in Hershey because one crew handles your entire project, your price is locked before demo, and we pull permits ourselves. You get a finished bathroom on schedule, without chasing subcontractors or the township.
