We are thrilled with our master bathroom remodel! The new shower is absolutely gorgeous, and the floors turned out beautifully. We truly appreciated their attention to detail and how clean they kept everything. Val is a terrific asset to the company. Very friendly, organized and kept us updated on the project plans. Calco helped to make our project so easy, from initial evaluation/quote to the gorgeous end result. Thanks so much!

This was a challenging job (replacing tub and surround in my rental unit) for Dakota and Mike as my two unit in the city is 140 years old. Behind the walls of the tub was not pretty although they handled it as though it was not a problem at all. My carpentar was thoroughly impressed with the job they did which took two full days. We both agreed Dakota and Mike were highly professional, hard working and a pleasure to work with. I will be renovating my own bathroom next year and will be calling Calco again to do the job. Everyone I spoke with from the start to the end was great to work with. It looks beautiful! Thank you all.

If you are considering renovations and looking to identify a contractor, CalCo needs to be your choice! From the sales process through implementation, the process was smooth and the results superior. We engaged CalCo for a full bathroom remodel and window replacement. The sales person, Neill, visited our home and patiently and thoroughly answered our questions while also providing material samples to aid in understanding. He was very personable and shared suggestions to aid in what we were trying to achieve. Upon signing the agreement, CalCo engaged a team to initiate the process. Caleb and Jared visited our home to validate the intended design and measurements. Val was assigned as our point of contact. She did a stellar job in keeping us updated regarding the status of the project and acted as the conduit for any questions/issues. Upon receipt of the materials, the installation team was immediately assigned. A better team could not be desired! Drew, Wendell and Jared were amazing! They were very respectful of our home and sought our input on design/placement throughout the process. They worked tirelessly to provide us with the results that we were hoping to achieve! The clear and structured process, quality of workmanship, frequent communication and professional behaviors of the team cannot be surpassed. We are so very pleased with the results and would strongly recommend CalCo to anyone seeking a contractor.

Our experience with having CALCO replace our old, fiberglass tub with a new shower was nothing but positive. From Sales to Site Inspector to Installation Coordinator, everyone we interacted with was professional and helpful. We were especially impressed with the quality of the CALCO product when compared to others we looked into and we thought the overall price was reasonable. Communications prior to the installation kept us apprised of when we could expect the project to be completed. Our installers, Dakota and Mike, were professional and very competent, courteous and friendly, respectful of us and our property, and solicited our opinions for placement of accessories. We are very pleased with our new shower and highly recommend CALCO.

We talked to a few outfits before the Calco guy came around. We could see the quality and feel materials. Calco has a game plan from the call, knock on door, measuring and then presentation, schedule and installation. They had creative ideas for us to save money and lower the estimate. None of those were skipping steps or cheaper materials by the way. The installation looked like a camera on triple speed. They walked up 2 sets of stairs with everything and down to leave. They went from 65 yr old homemade tub installation to a walk in entrance into another world. When we cross the threshold we leave your world behind. The amazing shower head and wand are perfect for us. At 78 we got handrails and a teak fold down bench. I quickly realized I hadn’t been able to wash between my toes because of balance issues. A foot on the bench and a hand on the rail? Hello Mister Foot hadn’t seen you in a while, and your welcome toes. We’re putting in a washer dryer tower. Just think, a hot plate and a dorm refrigerator, 2 bags of sand and a sun lamp AND WE WILL VACATION FOR FREE. No canceled planes, no delayed trains or automobiles and Door Dash on speed dial. Thank you Calco. We’ll invite you to the BBQ opening but only room for one of you. BYORHaS Bring Your Own Rain Hat and Soap.

Our craftsmen Ed and Josh were both phenomenal, not just doing great work but also being kind and personable (my toddlers were both huge fans!). Val is a dream as well, communicating in a timely and direct manner. Even as far back in our project as our initial appointment was memorable, Neill was pleasant and informative!

Sales consultation was handled very well and Daniel was very responsive and helpful. Sample contract was shared ahead of time and the guarantee they offered was excellent. Once contracted, staff was consistently in touch. A couple small glitches around scheduling but we didn't have to wait long. Installation of walk-in shower went well with team of Tim and Dakota. Took a second day and required them to come back a week later to patch up some damaged walls and flooring. But their follow-up work was also very professional.

I honestly don’t have the words to describe not only how thrilled I am with our new bathroom….but how amazed I still am at the Professionalism, Work ethic, Proficiency, And kindness of the whole crew from top to bottom. These guys were in and out in 4 1/2 days- and we had a WHOLE bathroom remodel. I kept thinking during the process, Man, these guys are like machines (They rarely ever take a break) …. Or maybe they are robots. Hahahaha! I know that this sounds extreme, But I’m not exaggerating- At every step of the way, they were wonderful. I am so glad that we chose Calco, And we will be using them again. If you are on the fence- do it!! I can promise you will not be disappointed!!!!

My name’s Zac Jack. I’m a doughy, 37 year old stand-up comedian, and I’ve been a stay-at-home dad since emo was a thing, so when my bathroom finally started to literally melt under the strain of my utter incompetence when it comes to general maintenance, I threw up my hands and started looking for a grown-up to help me un-melt it. I went through a few companies gathering quotes for an entire bathroom remodel and rebuild; I even got messages from the company that had previously done “work” on the bathroom (that’s a hard pass from me, Bath Fitter), and it was looking grim. Have you priced things lately? Especially quality things... I mean, yikes. Enter CalCo. So first thing they did was send someone to do an initial assessment and give us a quote. The quote they gave me was, by orders of magnitude lower than the next lowest. That’s check one. Then they gave us our options. Quality, construction grade materials (not just the lick-and-stick plastic and rubber that SOME companies use, cough cough... Bath Fitter), and in a variety of styles that had options to appeal to both me (I’m tasteless white trash), and my wife (she has extraordinary taste... in decor, not men). There’s check two. Then the work started. Now, I’m an advocate for taking one’s time and doing it right, whatever the schedule. But the choice between expedience and precision craftsmanship was not an issue at all: not only was the crew they sent lickity-split on the job (Shout out my dudes Noah, Mike, Matt, and Jared), but they did incredible, professional work that I am honestly very, very impressed by. (SHOUT OUT MY DUDES NOAH, MIKE, MATT, AND JARED). And there’s the hat trick, because that’s a big ol’ Texas sized CHECK. They took care of everything, and as one room affected the next, they just kept going, kept fixing, kept it moving. And that’s to say nothing about the bathroom itself: it looks BALLER, y’all. It’s now my favorite room in the house, and that’s not just because I have the diet of a possum with access to a credit card. They did amazing work. So, in the interest of brevity, here’s my short review of CalCo: They crushed it. Then they rebuilt it better than ever. 10/10. Hire them when you need your house un-melted. I’m gonna hire them again for the next project, which I’m already planning.

My old bathroom needed to be updated. Calco proposed a very reasonable and attractive plan that I accepted. I am so happy with the finished result. My construction crew were Mickey and Josh. I can’t praise them enough. They are so skilled, so nice, so professional. They addressed every unexpected issue that came up. They did everything - demolition, installment, plumbing, electrical work, painting. They came up with novel solutions to make sure every detail was addressed to our satisfaction. Calco is a company that shows up on time, stays on the job until it’s finished, has top-notch contractors. They made sure to protect the surrounding floors and rooms from any dust and dirt. At the end of the day they cleaned up spotlessly. There are many horror stories out there of remodeling gone wrong. With this company, and especially with Mickey and Josh, you can have complete confidence and guarantee that you will be 100% satisfied. A shoutout to Kristy who is the best contact person. TY!!!!!

We would recommend CALCO for your bathroom renovations. Our craftsmen, Mello and Mike, did a great job converting our tub into a walk-in shower, as well as updating our vanity, flooring, and lighting. Their attention to detail and quality workmanship really showed throughout the project. They provided excellent communication regularly letting us know what was going on and what to expect. Whenever any issues arose, they were quick to find effective solutions with minimal disruption to the work. They also kept our home clean during every phase of the renovation, which helped ensure there was very little impact on our day-to-day routine. Kristi was also wonderful to work with—she checked in regularly from the time we signed the contract, throughout the project, and even after completion to make sure all our questions were answered and everything was running smoothly. The pricing was comparable to the other estimates we received, but CALCO’s service was significantly better. Overall, a very positive experience from start to finish.

We can highly recommend Calco Design LLC. We had a complete master bathroom renovation from the subfloor to some ceiling work. Brand new subfloor, floor boards, toilet, vanity, electrical - top to bottom. The project included the removal of a storage closet that expanded our standup shower into a beautiful masterpiece. Mickey and Josh were both professional and timely, and they included us throughout the process. We will be using Calco for future projects based on this experience, and we will ask for Mickey and Josh where possible.

My parents had a project planned to replace the vanity tops and fixtures in 4 bathrooms, and renovate the shower in the master. My father passed away unexpectedly 2 weeks before the project start date. The team at Calco could not have been more understanding and kind about the situation. My mom keeps a spotless house and we were both impressed at the measures taken to limit the dust and protect the floors and furniture. The bathrooms look beautiful, the craftsmanship is impeccable. There were some miscommunications around scheduling, but the team at Calco made it right as soon as they were alerted. There will be hiccups with any renovation project, how the contractors handle it is the most important. The Calco team made a difficult situation as easy as it could be, and now my mom has beautiful updated bathrooms to bring her some joy.

We had our Master bath completely renovated. We were able to pick out everything we wanted in one meeting. The team began the project at the estimated timeframe and completed only one day past the estimate. This was expected since we did make a couple of changes along the way. The team was very careful with our home, draping every and cleaning and vacuuming up before they left each night. The quality of the material was superior and we are thrilled with our finished bathroom. The project was not cheap, but the quality of the materials and the team that did the work reflected the value of the project

Pick the Shower That Fits Your Bathroom

You’ll see real options before anything gets decided, not one package with a price attached. A bathtub-to-shower conversion in Hershey can stay inside your tub’s existing footprint or reshape the room entirely, and which one makes sense depends on your drain location, your floor structure, and how much space you want back. We measure all of it during the consultation.

Alcove Walk-In Showers

The straightest path from tub to shower. Your new shower fills the same three-walled space, so the plumbing stays where it is and the rest of the bathroom is untouched. This is the workhorse option in Hershey’s older brick homes, where the hall bath is 5×8 and there’s nowhere else for anything to go.

Nothing to step over, which matters more than any other feature to a lot of homeowners here. Curbless works when we can reach the drain from a basement below, common in the homes around the Chocolate Avenue grid. On a slab, a low threshold gets you nearly the same ease of entry without cutting concrete.

Angling the shower into a corner buys back floor space a rectangular tub was wasting. You end up with room for a wider vanity, a linen tower, or just enough clearance to towel off without hitting a wall. It’s a frequent fix in the postwar ranches out along Hockersville and Sand Hill Road.

A garden tub that nobody’s filled since 2009 is the best square footage in the house. Pulling it out makes room for dual heads, a bench, and a glass panel instead of a door. Plenty of homeowners keep a bathtub in a secondary bath and convert the primary.

What Goes Into a CalCo Shower?

Your shower stays looking new with a wipe instead of a scrub brush, because there’s nothing in it for buildup to grab. A bathroom tub-to-shower conversion in Hershey matters here more than in most towns: local water comes from Swatara and Manada Creeks, so hardness climbs and falls with the season and homeowners feel it in the spotting. Seamless surfaces sidestep the whole problem.

One continuous surface from floor to ceiling, no grout lines anywhere. Mold and mildew have no seam to colonize and hard water has nothing porous to stain, so the walls look the same in year ten as they did on install day. Available in a range of colors and stone-look patterns you’ll pick from during your consultation.

The floor is where slips happen, so ours is textured for grip while wet and built to carry weight without flexing or cracking. It bonds to the wall system as a single waterproof assembly, which means no pan liner to fail and no tile field to eventually loosen. Comfortable underfoot, and it drains fast.

Clear glass, sliding panels, or an open walk-in entry with no door at all, paired with fixtures that match the rest of your bathroom. Picking these alongside your wall pattern is how a shower remodel reads as one design instead of parts assembled separately.

Recessed niches built into the wall hold shampoo without a hanging caddy, and a bench gives you somewhere to sit or prop a foot. Both get placed where you’ll actually reach them, not wherever framing happened to allow. Teak fold-down seats and solid surface built-ins are both available depending on the look you’re after.

From Consultation to Installation: Our Process

You’ll know your price, your materials, and your install date before anyone touches the bathroom. A tub-to-shower conversion in Hershey, PA finishes in a single day because everything gets decided and manufactured first. No open walls waiting on a decision, no surprises midway through.

Your In-Home Consultation

Someone comes to your house, looks at the actual bathroom, and brings samples you can touch. You'll leave that visit with a written price, not a range. Layout questions, drain location, and what your floor structure allows all get answered on the spot.

Selections and Final Measure

Wall pattern, floor texture, glass, fixtures, and bench placement get settled in one sitting. Then we confirm exact dimensions, because panels are cut to your bathroom. Permitting happens here too, and since drain relocation often requires a permit, we file with Derry Township.

Installation Day

We always us our own crew, not subcontractors. Floors and hallways get protected before demo starts, then the old tub comes out and the new shower goes in. Most conversions wrap the same day, with a named coordinator keeping you posted start to finish.

Safer From Day One

A tub-to-shower conversion in Hershey, PA takes the worry out of climbing over a tub y. That’s what brings most longtime owners to us, especially the ones who plan to stay in the house and want the bathroom to stop being the room they think twice about.

Low-Threshold Entry

The step over disappears entirely. Curbless entry works when we can reach the drain from a basement below, which covers much of Hershey’s older housing stock. On a slab floor, a low threshold delivers nearly the same ease without cutting concrete.

Having somewhere to sit changes the whole experience, whether that’s showering seated or just propping a foot up. Teak folds flat against the wall when you’re not using it, and solid surface builds in permanently as part of the shower itself.

Solid wood backing goes into the walls during installation, so bars can be mounted wherever you need them, now or a decade from now. Adding blocking later means opening a finished wall, and doing it upfront costs almost nothing.

The height adjusts to whoever is using it, which matters if you’re seated or helping someone else. It also makes rinsing the shower down afterward quick, and it tends to be the feature people say they didn’t know they wanted.

What Your Hershey House Changes About the Job

Where your house sits and when it was built decide what a tub-to-shower remodel in Hershey actually involves. Nothing about that changes your price after the fact, since we look at all of it during the consultation, but it does explain why two neighbors get different answers.

The blocks around Chocolate and Cocoa Avenues were built with one upstairs bath, plaster walls, and a cast iron tub that takes two people and a plan to remove. Basements underneath make drain work straightforward, which is what keeps these jobs on a single day.

The homes along Hockersville and Sand Hill Road usually have one narrow hall bath serving the whole house. That’s the constraint worth solving well, and often the argument for angling the shower into a corner rather than a broader bathroom remodel.

Reaching the drain from below makes curbless entry simple. On a slab, getting there means cutting concrete, so a low threshold usually makes more sense. We determine which you have before quoting, not after the tub is out and the floor is open.

Why Hershey Homeowners Choose CalCo

Most complaints about remodelers come down to the same thing: the person who sold you the job isn’t the person doing it. CalCo quotes, builds, and warranties every conversion in house, so there’s nobody to point at when a question comes up.

We Know These Homes

Derry Township housing runs from 1920s company-town brick to subdivisions built in the last twenty years, and a tub comes out of each one differently. We've worked across Dauphin County long enough that your bathroom holds few surprises, which is a large part of why one day is realistic.

One Crew,
No Subs

We don't use subcontractors. The team that starts your bathroom is the team that finishes it, and they work for CalCo. That's why our installers get thanked by name in reviews, because homeowners actually remember who was in their house.

Warrantied for Life

The wall and pan system is covered for as long as you own the home. That promise only holds up behind material that deserves it, which is why we install solid surface: no grout to fail, no pan liner to leak, very little left to go wrong.

Hershey Tub-to-Shower Conversion FAQs

Homeowners tend to arrive with the same handful of questions, usually about money and timing. Here’s what we tell people in Hershey before they’ve committed to anything, so you can decide whether a conversion makes sense for your house.

How Much Does a Tub-to-Shower Conversion Cost in Hershey?

Most fall between $13,000 and $18,000. Bathroom size, wall pattern, glass style, and whether the drain moves all affect where you land. You get a written price at your consultation, before any material is ordered, and it holds unless you change the scope yourself.

Most finish in a single day. Panels are cut to your bathroom’s exact dimensions before installation, so the crew arrives with everything ready. Larger projects or ones involving drain relocation can run longer, and you’ll know which yours is well before installation day.

Often yes, especially when the drain moves. Derry Township handles permitting through its own Community Development Department rather than a third party. We take care of the filing as part of your project, so nothing lands on you to chase down.

Almost always. The 5×8 hall baths in Hershey’s older homes were built around a 60-inch tub, and that footprint takes a shower comfortably. Losing the tub usually makes the room feel larger, one of several small bathroom gains.

It depends on your buyer. Families with young children usually want at least one tub in the house. If yours is the only one and you’re planning to sell soon, a shower-to-tub conversion elsewhere is worth discussing first.

Yes. Financing options are available, and your consultant can walk through what’s offered while they’re at your house. Since you’ll have a written price that day, you’ll know exactly what you’re financing before deciding anything.

CalCo Design & Renovation is one of the best tub-to-shower conversion companies in Hershey because we never subcontract, we warranty our wall and pan system for as long as you own the home, and the price quoted at your consultation is the price you pay.

Ready to Lose the Tub?

A tub-to-shower conversion in Hershey, PA takes one day, comes with a written price you can hold us to, and leaves you with a shower warrantied for as long as you own the house. CalCo Design & Renovation has been doing this work across Dauphin County for years. Call now to book your free consultation.
