Our experience with having CALCO replace our old, fiberglass tub with a new shower was nothing but positive. From Sales to Site Inspector to Installation Coordinator, everyone we interacted with was professional and helpful. We were especially impressed with the quality of the CALCO product when compared to others we looked into and we thought the overall price was reasonable. Communications prior to the installation kept us apprised of when we could expect the project to be completed. Our installers, Dakota and Mike, were professional and very competent, courteous and friendly, respectful of us and our property, and solicited our opinions for placement of accessories. We are very pleased with our new shower and highly recommend CALCO.

We talked to a few outfits before the Calco guy came around. We could see the quality and feel materials. Calco has a game plan from the call, knock on door, measuring and then presentation, schedule and installation. They had creative ideas for us to save money and lower the estimate. None of those were skipping steps or cheaper materials by the way. The installation looked like a camera on triple speed. They walked up 2 sets of stairs with everything and down to leave. They went from 65 yr old homemade tub installation to a walk in entrance into another world. When we cross the threshold we leave your world behind. The amazing shower head and wand are perfect for us. At 78 we got handrails and a teak fold down bench. I quickly realized I hadn’t been able to wash between my toes because of balance issues. A foot on the bench and a hand on the rail? Hello Mister Foot hadn’t seen you in a while, and your welcome toes. We’re putting in a washer dryer tower. Just think, a hot plate and a dorm refrigerator, 2 bags of sand and a sun lamp AND WE WILL VACATION FOR FREE. No canceled planes, no delayed trains or automobiles and Door Dash on speed dial. Thank you Calco. We’ll invite you to the BBQ opening but only room for one of you. BYORHaS Bring Your Own Rain Hat and Soap.

We had a tricky project (turning a large walk-in shower into a wet-room style bath and shower combo) and the process was still very easy! Our craftsmen Ed and Josh were both phenomenal, not just doing great work but also being kind and personable (my toddlers were both huge fans!). Val is a dream as well, communicating in a timely and direct manner. Even as far back in our project as our initial appointment was memorable, Neill was pleasant and informative!

Sales consultation was handled very well and Daniel was very responsive and helpful. Sample contract was shared ahead of time and the guarantee they offered was excellent. Once contracted, staff was consistently in touch. A couple small glitches around scheduling but we didn't have to wait long. Installation of walk-in shower went well with team of Tim and Dakota. Took a second day and required them to come back a week later to patch up some damaged walls and flooring. But their follow-up work was also very professional.

We have been extremely impressed with the team at Calvin, from the salesman, to the installation team of Matt Pierce and Anthony and even the office assistant , Christie, who kept was informed weekly and asked if we were satisfied the workmanship of the bathrooms are super! Matt and Anthony were very professional and asked questions through the projects. Our shower was enlarged and it look like it was always that way only much nicer! The other project invoked repealing a tub with a shower and it also turned out wonderful. I would definitely recommend Calco and our team of Matt Pierce and Anthony !!!

I honestly don’t have the words to describe not only how thrilled I am with our new bathroom….but how amazed I still am at the Professionalism, Work ethic, Proficiency, And kindness of the whole crew from top to bottom. These guys were in and out in 4 1/2 days- and we had a WHOLE bathroom remodel. I kept thinking during the process, Man, these guys are like machines (They rarely ever take a break) …. Or maybe they are robots. Hahahaha! I know that this sounds extreme, But I’m not exaggerating- At every step of the way, they were wonderful. I am so glad that we chose Calco, And we will be using them again. If you are on the fence- do it!! I can promise you will not be disappointed!!!!

My name’s Zac Jack. I’m a doughy, 37 year old stand-up comedian, and I’ve been a stay-at-home dad since emo was a thing, so when my bathroom finally started to literally melt under the strain of my utter incompetence when it comes to general maintenance, I threw up my hands and started looking for a grown-up to help me un-melt it. I went through a few companies gathering quotes for an entire bathroom remodel and rebuild; I even got messages from the company that had previously done “work” on the bathroom (that’s a hard pass from me, Bath Fitter), and it was looking grim. Have you priced things lately? Especially quality things... I mean, yikes. Enter CalCo. So first thing they did was send someone to do an initial assessment and give us a quote. The quote they gave me was, by orders of magnitude lower than the next lowest. That’s check one. Then they gave us our options. Quality, construction grade materials (not just the lick-and-stick plastic and rubber that SOME companies use, cough cough... Bath Fitter), and in a variety of styles that had options to appeal to both me (I’m tasteless white trash), and my wife (she has extraordinary taste... in decor, not men). There’s check two. Then the work started. Now, I’m an advocate for taking one’s time and doing it right, whatever the schedule. But the choice between expedience and precision craftsmanship was not an issue at all: not only was the crew they sent lickity-split on the job (Shout out my dudes Noah, Mike, Matt, and Jared), but they did incredible, professional work that I am honestly very, very impressed by. (SHOUT OUT MY DUDES NOAH, MIKE, MATT, AND JARED). And there’s the hat trick, because that’s a big ol’ Texas sized CHECK. They took care of everything, and as one room affected the next, they just kept going, kept fixing, kept it moving. And that’s to say nothing about the bathroom itself: it looks BALLER, y’all. It’s now my favorite room in the house, and that’s not just because I have the diet of a possum with access to a credit card. They did amazing work. So, in the interest of brevity, here’s my short review of CalCo: They crushed it. Then they rebuilt it better than ever. 10/10. Hire them when you need your house un-melted. I’m gonna hire them again for the next project, which I’m already planning.

My old bathroom needed to be updated. Calco proposed a very reasonable and attractive plan that I accepted. I am so happy with the finished result. My construction crew were Mickey and Josh. I can’t praise them enough. They are so skilled, so nice, so professional. They addressed every unexpected issue that came up. They did everything - demolition, installment, plumbing, electrical work, painting. They came up with novel solutions to make sure every detail was addressed to our satisfaction. Calco is a company that shows up on time, stays on the job until it’s finished, has top-notch contractors. They made sure to protect the surrounding floors and rooms from any dust and dirt. At the end of the day they cleaned up spotlessly. There are many horror stories out there of remodeling gone wrong. With this company, and especially with Mickey and Josh, you can have complete confidence and guarantee that you will be 100% satisfied. A shoutout to Kristy who is the best contact person. TY!!!!!

We would recommend CALCO for your bathroom renovations. Our craftsmen, Mello and Mike, did a great job converting our tub into a walk-in shower, as well as updating our vanity, flooring, and lighting. Their attention to detail and quality workmanship really showed throughout the project. They provided excellent communication regularly letting us know what was going on and what to expect. Whenever any issues arose, they were quick to find effective solutions with minimal disruption to the work. They also kept our home clean during every phase of the renovation, which helped ensure there was very little impact on our day-to-day routine. Kristi was also wonderful to work with—she checked in regularly from the time we signed the contract, throughout the project, and even after completion to make sure all our questions were answered and everything was running smoothly. The pricing was comparable to the other estimates we received, but CALCO’s service was significantly better. Overall, a very positive experience from start to finish.

We can highly recommend Calco Design LLC. We had a complete master bathroom renovation from the subfloor to some ceiling work. Brand new subfloor, floor boards, toilet, vanity, electrical - top to bottom. The project included the removal of a storage closet that expanded our standup shower into a beautiful masterpiece. Mickey and Josh were both professional and timely, and they included us throughout the process. We will be using Calco for future projects based on this experience, and we will ask for Mickey and Josh where possible.

My parents had a project planned to replace the vanity tops and fixtures in 4 bathrooms, and renovate the shower in the master. My father passed away unexpectedly 2 weeks before the project start date. The team at Calco could not have been more understanding and kind about the situation. My mom keeps a spotless house and we were both impressed at the measures taken to limit the dust and protect the floors and furniture. The bathrooms look beautiful, the craftsmanship is impeccable. There were some miscommunications around scheduling, but the team at Calco made it right as soon as they were alerted. There will be hiccups with any renovation project, how the contractors handle it is the most important. The Calco team made a difficult situation as easy as it could be, and now my mom has beautiful updated bathrooms to bring her some joy.

We had our Master bath completely renovated. We were able to pick out everything we wanted in one meeting. The team began the project at the estimated timeframe and completed only one day past the estimate. This was expected since we did make a couple of changes along the way. The team was very careful with our home, draping every and cleaning and vacuuming up before they left each night. The quality of the material was superior and we are thrilled with our finished bathroom. The project was not cheap, but the quality of the materials and the team that did the work reflected the value of the project

UPDATE: Paul, the principal owner, was extremely responsive to my concerns and has taken huge steps to make sure I’m happy with the end result. I truly appreciate his efforts and am happy to give this company five stars. ORIGINAL REVIEW: The installers—Noah, Matt, & Pierce— were terrific. Skilled, courteous, and exceedingly clean. Five stars for them. The initial contacts with the company were the problem. The salesperson Brandon was over-the-top pushy and high-pressure. It wasn’t until a week after his sales pitch that another employee mentioned in passing that I could visit a showroom and see samples. The process could have gone more smoothly had I been shown actual products or samples at the outset.

Why E-town Homeowners Are Bringing Back the Bath

Trading a shower for a tub isn’t a step backward, it’s a choice about how you want your bathroom to feel and function. For plenty of E-town homeowners, the right tub solves something a shower never could. Here are the reasons this swap makes sense.

Room to Truly Unwind

After a long day, few things reset you like a hot soak at home. A tub turns your E-town bathroom into a place to decompress, offering the kind of slow, quiet wind-down at the end of the evening that a quick rinse in a shower stall simply can’t deliver.

For households with young kids, a tub is less a luxury than a necessity. Bathing little ones is far easier in a proper basin, and a well-planned tub conversion in Elizabethtown gives growing families the practical, everyday functionality that busy mornings and messy bath times genuinely demand.

Stepping over a tall tub wall gets harder with age, which is where a walk-in tub shines. Its low, sealed door and built-in comfort-height seating let you enjoy a full soak without the climb, a smart aging-in-place choice given E-town’s sizable 55+ community at Masonic Village and Klein Mills.

A Simple Process, Done in One Day

A shower-to-bathtub conversion in Elizabethtown doesn’t have to upend your week. For a straightforward swap, our team can often complete the work in as little as a day, and even larger jobs move along a clear, predictable path. Here’s how we take your bathroom from old shower to finished tub without the drawn-out disruption a project like this can sometimes bring.

Step 1: In-Home Walkthrough

It begins with a visit to your E-town home, where we study the current shower, test the surrounding walls, and inspect the plumbing below. The borough's older twins and foursquares often hide quirks behind the tile, so a firsthand look lets us plan precisely and hand you an accurate quote.

Step 2: Pick Your Tub and Finishes

Next comes the fun part: choosing your tub style, surround, and fixtures. We guide each pick toward finishes that suit both your taste and E-town's mineral-heavy water, helping you land on a look you love that's also built to shrug off scale and daily wear.

Step 3: Out With the Shower

Our team removes the old shower and adjusts the drain and supply lines to fit a tub. In Elizabethtown's century-old homes, this usually means squaring up walls that have settled over time and waterproofing the space fully before your new basin is ever set in place.

Step 4: Install and Finish

We position the tub, build out the surround, and mount every fixture, then seal each seam against moisture. Once it's in, we clean the room top to bottom and walk you through the finished result, making sure your new E-town bath performs exactly as it should.

Baths Built for Elizabethtown Homes

Dropping a tub into an existing shower space is rarely as simple as it sounds, especially in a town with E-town’s mix of aging housing and demanding water. The right conversion accounts for the specific realities of your home, and here’s how we tailor the work to bathrooms around here.

Rerouting Old Plumbing

A shower drain and a tub drain don’t sit in the same place, so a conversion means opening the floor and rerouting lines. In Elizabethtown’s early-1900s twins and foursquares, that often means working around original plumbing, which our crew navigates carefully to get your new tub draining exactly as it should.

The limestone under Lancaster County leaves E-town with hard, mineral-heavy water that dulls cheap tubs and crusts fixtures fast. Every shower-to-tub remodel in Elizabethtown we build leans on durable, easy-clean surfaces and quality valves chosen to hold their finish against that constant mineral load for years.

A deep tub and daily use put real moisture into a room, and E-town’s humid summers only add to it. We waterproof the surround thoroughly and install proper ventilation, protecting the walls and framing of your home from the dampness that poorly sealed conversions tend to trap inside.

Why E-town Trusts CalCo

A conversion changes the whole shape of your bathroom, so it pays to hire a team that does this work often and does it well. CalCo Design & Renovation is a locally owned and operated company that has reshaped bathrooms across Elizabethtown, and here’s what makes homeowners comfortable handing us the project.

Conversion Know-How

Swapping a shower for a tub isn’t general handyman work, it’s a specialized job with plumbing, waterproofing, and fit all riding on experience. We’ve handled shower-to-tub conversions in Elizabethtown across every kind of local home, so we know how to get the drain, the framing, and the finish right the first time.

You won’t chase down a rotating cast of workers wondering who’s in charge. From your first call through the final walkthrough, you deal with one consistent CalCo team that knows your project, your home, and your preferences, which keeps communication simple and the work accountable from start to finish.

We don’t consider a job done until it’s built to hold up. Every tub we set is installed with quality materials and sealed to stand up to years of E-town’s hard water and humid summers, so your new bath still looks and works beautifully long after the crew has gone.

Elizabethtown Shower-to-Tub Conversion FAQs

Weighing a conversion and want a few answers first? These are the questions E-town homeowners ask us most before bringing a tub back into the bathroom. If something you’re wondering about isn’t covered, give us a call and we’ll talk it through.

How Much Does a Shower-to-Tub Conversion Cost?

Most conversions fall between $13,000 and $18,000. Where your project lands depends on the size of the bathroom, the tub and materials you choose, how complex the design is, and whether the plumbing needs significant rerouting. High-end fixtures and custom tile work will carry the total toward the upper end of that range.

A straightforward conversion can be finished in as little as a day. More involved projects take longer, since the full process covers demolition, plumbing changes, waterproofing, construction, and final installation. Older E-town homes occasionally reveal surprises behind the walls, which is why we set a realistic schedule with you up front.

Yes. Rerouting drain and supply lines is the kind of plumbing work that often calls for a permit and inspection. When yours does, we manage the paperwork and coordinate the inspection ourselves, so the job is completed to code without you having to deal with borough logistics.

Absolutely. Walk-in tubs are a popular choice in E-town, especially for homeowners thinking ahead to aging in place. With a low, sealed entry and built-in seating, they deliver a full, comfortable soak while removing the high tub wall that makes a traditional basin harder to get into safely.

It can. In a market where most homes list in the low $300s, families with young children strongly prefer having at least one bathtub, and a tubless home often gives them pause. Restoring a tub broadens your pool of buyers and helps the bathroom show well.

Plenty. We install alcove tubs, deep soakers, freestanding models, and walk-in tubs, matching the style to your bathroom’s size and your home’s character. During design, we help you weigh looks, comfort, and space so the tub you pick fits the room as well as it fits your routine.

We do. A shower-to-tub conversion is one of the many ways we update E-town bathrooms. If your plans point a different direction, we can also help with:

CalCo Design & Renovation is the best shower-to-tub conversion company in Elizabethtown because we bring specialized experience to a job that demands it. We know how to reroute plumbing cleanly in older homes, we choose materials that stand up to the area’s hard water, and we back every conversion with craftsmanship that holds up for the long haul.

Sink Into the Soak You've Been Missing

That first slow soak in your new tub is closer than you think, and it starts with a quick conversation about what you have in mind. Tell us about your bathroom and the kind of tub you’re dreaming of, and we’ll shape a plan that fits your home and your budget.
